Samson – knowledge and expertise

- more than 30 years experience in development and production of Liquid ring vacuum pumps. Samson liquid ring pump is special developed to work in a harsh environment. With the pump housing in cast iron, the shaft and rotor in stainless steel the Samson liquid ring vacuum/compressor pump is designed simple, but strong. The rotor blades are welded on a solid shaft, giving the rotor the strength to obtain the maximal torque.

Simplicity and strength

Simple construction, easy to maintain with only a few wearing parts and very reliable in operation.
The liquid ring pump can handle small particles, dust, liquid and vapour without interrupting the operation and it has a low noise level.

Benefit

·  Compact design, high capacity
·  Reliable construction, low
   maintenance costs
·  Environmental safe, water
   as sealing media
·  Can be used in hazardous zone
·  Low noise level

The trick with the liquid ring

The function of the liquid ring pump is simple. Essentially the pump consists of a cylindrical casing with an eccentrically placed rotor. Liquid is the only “sealing” material. The liquid works as a piston between the rotor blades when the rotor rotates. Air is drawn in on one side of the rotor and creates vacuum. The air is compressed on the other side of the rotor and creates pressure.

Applications

The pump is the main component in a Vacuum Power Skid.

·  Air flow, pneumatic transfer
   of drill cuttings
·  Vacuum, for collecting mud
·  Vacuum for central vacuum
   for cleaning
·  Vacuum for waste handling

Optimal environmental solutions

Samson has in cooperation with owners and shipyards developed the optimal environmental solutions for handling of drilling mud and collecting waste on drillings rig. Samson pumps are due to the high reliability, the low noise used in vacuum power packs for transportation of drill cuttings and general vacuum requirements.

Samson – more than just a pump
