Accoat A/S – Company of the month - September 2008
Accoat was founded in 1969 by Mr Preben Jørgensen who as a professional baker found it problematic that his dough was sticking to the baking tray. Therefore, he decided to establish the coating company Accoat.
Accoat became a successful supplier of coatings to the bakery industry. Today, Accoat is a subsidiary of the SP-Group, a leading supplier of moulded plastic components to the manufacturing industry at home and abroad. The SP-Group is listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and employs approximately 1000 people of which 80 people are working at Accoat.
It is Accoat’s vision to be a leading supplier in Europe in its line of business by being the preferred choice of its customers within its core competences. Naturally, Accoat has honoured this vision, thus rendering it one of the leading application providers for fluoropolymer coatings and, additionally, a provider with rising influence in coating markets globally.
Oil and Gas - Offshore In 2007 Accoat decided to increase the awareness of its products and services in the Oil and Gas industry and ever since Accoat participated in the exhibition ‘Offshore Europe Aberdeen’ in September 2007, there has been an increasing interest in Accoats’ products and services.
Business partners – DuPont Accoat has business partners world-wide; in particular, Accoat co-operates intensely with the internationally recognised chemical company DuPont. In co-operation with DuPont Accoat has on-going business projects offshore concerning the development of coatings for the Oil and Gas industry.
Business partners – other initiatives Besides co-operation with DuPont, Accoat has a considerable amount of new business initiatives going on elsewhere in the fields of Oil and Gas, thereby developing new products, processes and applications together with a diversity of business partners.
During the years, Accoat has interacted with business partners, collaborators and customers providing surface solutions in cases where no other company has been able to deliver. Naturally, Accoat will adhere to maintain this unique position in the future as well.
Global presence Accoat is present world-wide at the foremost exhibitions on Oil and Gas. This year, to mention a few, Accoat participated in NACE in New Orleans, Lousiana, as well as in OTC in Houston, Texas. Together with DuPont, Accoat exhibited at Neftegaz in Moscow, Russia. Moreover, Accoat will be present at ONS in Stavanger, Norway. For the next year, it is already planned that Accoat will present a paper and exhibit at NACE – Corrosion Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Naturally, Accoat will be present at OTC in Houston.
